Totana’s
Town Council has awarded the works to adapt the pilgrimage-hiking route from
Totana to La Santa to the company “Construcciones Peñalver Ruiz, S.L.” by an
amount of 36,000 euros, in virtue of a subvention given by the Regional
Ministry of Tourism and Consumption of Region de Murcia. Town Council will
contribute with 6,000 euros in order to co-finance them.
The
project, approved by the Local Governing Committee, includes two picnic spot
and the collocation of wood to limit the road.
The
councillor of Planning and Sustainable Development, Mª José Bedia Navarro,
explained that it will be provided with the best tourist infrastructures in
order to develop the net of eco-tourist routes, since “the route Totana-La
Santa is one of the most visited routes due to its religious and tourist
connection”, she said.
